About the client

The Gin Affair is Botswana’s biggest craft gin and tonic festival. In a world full of botanicals and the ever growing explosion of craft gin culture, Gaborone brings together a collection of gin distilleries and industry experts to showcase the best of the gin world to over 1000 attendees. 


The event that got taste buds tantalised and experiential barometers blown by an array of gin distillery stalls providing tastings and expert advice, gin cocktail bars with exceptional menus and a DJ line-up to set the mood.


In previous years, the client faced challenges with insecure ticketing solutions, crowd control, coupon management, advertising and reports. The organisers where looking to improve their security and provide an exceptional experience to gin enthusiasts with an all-in-one RFID event solution


Nutickets offered a fully customised online ticket shop, where The Gin Affair was able to sell both digital and printed tickets using one central platform. On arrival, the tickets were quickly scanned with the Nutickets Entry app, giving the client easily accessible statistics on attendance.

RFID wristbands

Upon entry, each gin fan was issued with a fully branded RFID wristband loaded with credits. Using our RFID event solution and Cashless app, the organisers were able to transform their mobile phones into RFID readers, enabling attendees to redeem their credits for gin tasting sessions with a quick tap of their wristbands.


The Nutickets extensions enabled the client to integrated their email provider and social media accounts with their Nutickets dashboard, making it quick and easy to schedule promotional email marketing and social media campaigns to create a hype about the event. Our comprehensive sales and attendance analytics tools gave real-time insight into how the event was performing and enabled the organisers to access detailed reports pre and post event to make informed future decisions.
